Bloomfield High School Music Department
The
award winning Bloomfield High School Music Department’s mission is to
develop students who create, perform and respond to music with
understanding. Students will develop in-depth skills in music and be
able to apply music knowledge and skill in real world experiences. We
strive to engage students in performing educationally challenging and
musically rewarding repertoire. We believe that music is an important
part in fostering academic growth for all interests and experience
levels.
The Bloomfield High School Music Department commits itself
to community engagement. Students perform at various events including
the annual Bloomfield Memorial Day Parade, the District Arts Festival at
The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, and out-of-state festival
competitions.
Students interested in choral and instrumental music
have the option of participating in various ensemble classes. Offerings
include concert choir, gospel choir, concert band, jazz band, keyboard,
music sound studio, and UCONN: Music Theory.
