Bloomfield High School's Music Department has produced its first winter concert in two years – due to COVID-19 restrictions. The virtual event can be viewed via: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOto_54Lr78&t=184s.
The winter concert, through the collaboration of Damon Coachman - the high school’s director of bands – and Aubree Salters - the district’s visual and performing arts co-coordinator - features performances from the BHS concert band, concert choir and Voices of Inspiration Gospel Choir.
The Voices of Inspiration Gospel Choir has also been selected to perform April 1 at the Connecticut Convention Center as a featured ensemble for the Connecticut Music Educators Association Conference. This is a yearly state conference for music educators.
The music department also normally performs an annual concert at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Hartford, one of the district’s signature community events.
For the last few years, our district has been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as one of the country’s Best Communities for Music Education.
