This year’s theme is “All Together Now.’’

As part of summer programming, Early Start is designed for those in grades 1-8. There are also programs for students in high school, and those with acute learning disabilities.

The summer school initiative includes an intensive and productive half-day program - running daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students are able to an sharpen their education skills by getting instruction in English Language Arts, reading, writing, math and social emotional learning.

The Early Start program runs three weeks for the 321 participating students in grades 1-8. There are 21 students registered for summer sessions at Global Experience Magnet School. Bloomfield High School’s program is four weeks and 136 students will be participating there. High School students will also have the opportunity to recover credits not achieved in the previous school year. Additionally, BHS offers a freshman academy for in-coming ninth-graders.

There is also a Band Camp for 25 intermediate and middle school students. All students are provided breakfast, lunch and transportation. Early Start is funded via state, district and federal dollars.

The Bloomfield Public Library will again be partnering with Early Start by providing students the opportunity to engage in summer reading activities.
